Scootercam creates 2 videos for the home page: Live Clips and Timelapse videos.
Live Clips – At the top of each hour, the camera records a ten-second clip of live video and audio. It appends the clip to clips from the previous 2 hours. This creates a :30 second clip.
Timelapse videos – The camera takes an image every 10 seconds. Every 20 minutes, we gather the images from the previous 4 hours (about 1440 total) and convert them to an mp4 timelapse video. At 30 frames per second, the rolling timelapse is about :48 seconds.
We also create a sunset timelapse, from 20 minutes before sunset until 20 minutes after.
