* At 531 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light, moving northeast at 30 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage.

At 518 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located 14 nm west of St. Joseph Light, moving northeast at 25 knots.

This a strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may eventually be required when this storm reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before the storm arrives.
